What are the responsibilities and job description for the Funds Counsel / Asset Management Counsel position at Long Ridge Partners?
Our client is an established top-tier alternative asset management fund in NYC. The firm is well-known and invests in assets across multiple strategies. Reporting to the CCO and Fund Counsel of that division, the attorney or legal counsel would contribute to and/or be responsible for the following areas:
Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Investor Relations team and other departments on the development and use of marketing and reporting collateral for new and existing products
- Advising on U.S. and non-U.S. laws and regulations applicable to marketing and offering activities, in collaboration with the Chief Compliance Officer and other team members
- Collaborating with Investor Relations, Accounting, Corporate Communications, and other departments on pitch decks, presentations, event speeches and talking points, and various other investor and prospective investor communications
- Keeping apprised of regulatory developments relevant to private funds and marketing, and providing updates to key internal stakeholders; liaising with outside counsel and other departments as appropriate.
- Managing projects related to the deployment of new technologies for use in marketing material workflows.
- Working with the Compliance team on other compliance matters and with senior Legal team members on firm-wide projects and initiatives, as needed.
Qualifications:
- JD and an outstanding record of achievement from a top-tier law school
- Member of the NY Bar
- 2-3 YOE at a Private Fund or Asset Management group in BigLaw
- Investment fund experience is required. The ideal candidate will have experience with both open-end and closed-end funds.
- Experience with the Advisers Act Marketing Rule is highly desirable
- Strong analytical and risk assessment skills
- Sense of urgency; ability to meet deadlines and communicate with stakeholders
- Strong communication, confidence, and ability to talk with external and internal stakeholders who are not legal professionals
- Adaptability and willingness to grow, learn, and an insatiable sense of intellectual curiosity
- Upbeat personality
Salary : $240,000 - $285,000
