What are the responsibilities and job description for the Real Estate Asset Management Associate position at Long Ridge Partners?
We are currently partnered with 2 large real estate investment firms who are looking to hire Asset Management Associates to their teams here in New York City.
Unlike standard Real Estate AM roles where assets are managed individually, these roles focus on platform-based investing. Both firms make investments directly into, and in some cases fully acquire operating companies as well as their underlying real estate, and then scale these platforms.
These are both Asset Management roles but with a true principal investor mindset - not just monitoring performance.
Asset & Platform Management
- Act as a key asset manager across multiple platforms and asset classes (industrial, residential, data centers, net lease, and specialty real estate)
- Lead weekly platform and asset-level calls, monitor operating and financial performance, and ensure execution of business plans
- Work hand-in-hand with operating company leadership teams to track, refine, and implement strategic initiatives
Value Creation & Strategy Execution
- Develop KPIs to measure platform and asset performance; identify revenue growth, margin expansion, and capital efficiency opportunities
- Think like an investor: evaluate where to deploy incremental capital, when to exit, refinance, or double down
- Drive performance across both newly formed platforms and legacy portfolios with operating partners
Financial Modeling & Underwriting Leadership
- Own and maintain financial models at both the asset and platform level
- Underwrite add-on acquisitions, growth CapEx, refinancings, and disposition scenarios
- Ensure underwriting assumptions translate into real operational and financial outcomes
Transactions & Growth
- Partner closely with the Deals/Acquisitions team on new investments, diligence, and underwriting
- Support seamless transition from deal execution to asset/platform management
- Contribute to exit strategies, sale processes, recapitalizations, and refinancings
Both roles are open to candidates with 1-5 years of experience in real estate asset management, equity acquisitions, and/or real estate credit investing.
