The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a high-caliber Investment Associate/Senior Associate to join the firm’s flagship distressed and special situations strategy.
Core Investment Strategies
You will be involved in all stages of the investment lifecycle across three primary pillars:
- Distressed for Control: Executing complex restructurings by acquiring senior debt positions to ultimately convert into equity ownership, targeting significant discounts to intrinsic value.
- Special Situations: Participating in unique event-driven opportunities, including public-to-private transactions, corporate carve-outs, and private credit workouts.
- Distressed Credit Trading: Analyzing liquid debt instruments for "pull-to-par" opportunities and high-yield secondary market trades.
Candidate Qualifications
- Experience: 3–8 years of experience at a top-tier investment bank (M&A, Leveraged Finance, or Restructuring) or a reputable buy-side firm (Private Equity or Distressed Debt).
- Technical Excellence: Superior financial modeling skills and a deep understanding of capital structures and bankruptcy/restructuring frameworks.
- Intellectual Curiosity: A contrarian mindset with the ability to look past market volatility to find fundamental value.
- Execution Skills: Ability to operate effectively within a lean team environment, managing multiple workstreams with high attention to detail.
Salary : $175,000 - $225,000
