What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Engineer position at London Approach?
We are seeking a Process Engineer to support and optimize daily production operations at our manufacturing facility that produces medical and industrial-grade gases. This role is hands-on, onsite, and critical to ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production processes. You will lead troubleshooting efforts, support plant operations, drive process improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, evaluate, and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, product quality, and safety.
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues in real time to minimize downtime and improve plant reliability.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), documentation, and training materials.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through process improvements and waste reduction.
- Assist with capital projects, including scope development, equipment selection, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Work closely with Quality and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to FDA, ISO, OSHA, and internal product specifications.
- Collect and analyze process data to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to preventive maintenance strategies to maintain equipment health and plant uptime.
- Participate in safety reviews, audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial processing, or chemical plant environment.
- Strong understanding of process systems such as distillation, gas separation, compression, cryogenic operations, heat exchange, or similar.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment and process performance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration abilities.
Preferred:
- Experience in industrial gas, chemicals, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing.
- Familiarity with P&IDs, process flow diagrams, control systems, and instrumentation.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement tools.
Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
