We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to lead modernization and automation initiatives across our warehouse and manufacturing operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with deep knowledge of HMI and PLC systems—particularly Siemens and Rockwell/Allen-Bradley—who thrives on optimizing efficiency, reliability, and scalability within industrial environments.
As part of a growing engineering and operations team, you’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting automated control systems that drive warehouse modernization and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems (Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, FactoryTalk, WinCC, etc.).
- Lead automation projects from concept through commissioning, including hardware design, software development, system integration, and documentation.
- Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and IT teams to implement new control strategies for warehouse modernization and process improvement.
- Integrate industrial control systems with SCADA, MES, or data acquisition platforms to enhance visibility and performance tracking.
- Perform system upgrades and migrations from legacy platforms to current automation standards.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and troubleshooting for electrical and control issues.
- Support startup, testing, and commissioning of new automated equipment and retrofits.
- Ensure systems adhere to safety, compliance, and reliability standards (NFPA, OSHA, UL, CE).
- Provide training and technical documentation for operators and maintenance teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or related field (or equivalent technical experience).
- 3–7 years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or manufacturing systems integration.
- Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming (Siemens Step 7 / TIA Portal and Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 / FactoryTalk View).
- Strong understanding of industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, etc.).
- Experience with VFDs, servos, sensors, and industrial I/O systems.
- Hands-on experience in automation design, commissioning, and troubleshooting within manufacturing or warehouse environments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to read and modify electrical schematics and control panel layouts.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with robotics integration, material handling, or conveyor systems.
- Experience with SCADA platforms or data-driven automation analytics.
- Knowledge of Industrial IoT (IIoT) and warehouse digitalization technologies.
- Exposure to AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN for control panel design.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary up to $115,000, depending on experience.
