Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day administration of customer incentive and rebate programs, including volume-based, growth-driven, and promotional structures.
- Perform regular calculations of earned incentives and accruals using defined program criteria; validate results against transactional data.
- Maintain and update program data, including eligibility criteria, performance thresholds, rates, and payout timing.
- Partner with accounting and receivables teams to ensure accurate recording and processing of incentive-related transactions.
- Prepare summaries and statements outlining program performance and earned incentives for internal and external stakeholders.
- Address questions related to program calculations, payment timing, and performance tracking.
- Investigate discrepancies in data outputs and resolve inconsistencies across systems.
- Apply compensation plan rules such as prorations, splits, caps, and adjustments consistently across participants.
- Generate and distribute compensation summaries for sales personnel and leadership.
- Track and manage inquiries or disputes related to compensation, coordinating research and resolution while maintaining proper documentation.
- Maintain accurate participant records, including employee changes, plan updates, and quota adjustments.
- Assist in compensation plan updates, modeling, and reporting in collaboration with leadership.
- Produce recurring reports related to incentive accruals, payouts, and overall program performance.
- Analyze trends and provide insights into incentive spend, attainment levels, and program effectiveness.
- Support ad hoc reporting requests from cross-functional teams.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting efforts by modeling potential incentive costs and scenarios.
- Ensure all calculations and processes follow established policies, plan documents, and internal controls.
- Maintain organized documentation to support audits and internal reviews.
- Keep process documentation, calculation methodologies, and procedures current and accessible.
- Work closely with finance to ensure proper alignment of accruals and financial reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related analytical discipline.
- 2–4 years of experience in compensation administration, financial operations, or similar analytical roles.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including advanced formulas, data analysis, and reporting techniques.
- Working knowledge of incentive structures such as commissions, quotas, and performance-based payouts.
- Familiarity with customer incentive or rebate programs is a plus.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail when working with large data sets.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex calculations clearly.
