Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our preconstruction team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in conceptual and detailed estimating for K‑12 schools, healthcare facilities, and other institutional construction projects. This role will collaborate closely with project managers, design teams, and clients to provide accurate cost data that supports successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for all phases of design, from conceptual budgets through final GMP submissions.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and RFP/RFQ documents to determine scope and pricing requirements.
- Solicit, evaluate, and scope subcontractor bids to ensure comprehensive and competitive coverage.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop value engineering options and cost-saving suggestions.
- Maintain current knowledge of local market conditions, trade costs, and material pricing.
- Participate in preconstruction meetings, interviews, and presentations with clients and design partners.
- Support business development efforts by preparing budgets and cost models for prospective projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5–10 years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractor.
- Proven experience estimating K‑12 and healthcare construction projects required.
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Sage Estimating, OST, Bluebeam, or similar tools).
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and local market pricing.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Salary : $100,000 - $135,000
