Overview
A well-established organization is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join its finance team. This role focuses on high-volume cash applications, account reconciliation, and supporting internal and external stakeholders with AR-related inquiries.
This is a fast-paced environment requiring strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply customer payments accurately and in a timely manner
- Perform daily cash and bank reconciliations, ensuring account accuracy
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, including unapplied cash and short payments
- Respond to inquiries from customers, internal teams, and credit departments regarding AR policies and account status
- Analyze payment data from multiple sources (banks, customers, internal systems) to ensure proper application
- Identify and escalate payment transmission or processing issues as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and support ongoing process improvements
- Assist team members with additional accounting or administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in accounts receivable, cash applications, or related accounting functions
- Strong experience with high-volume invoice processing and payment posting
- Experience performing cash/bank reconciliations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred, but not required)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to gather, verify, and organize information from multiple sources
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment
