Duties
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide fabrication and welding processes.
- Perform various welding techniques
- Operate power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to shape sheet metal and metal components.
- Measure materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure proper fit and alignment.
- Use rigging techniques for lifting and positioning heavy materials safely on construction sites or within fabrication shops.
- Maintain safety protocols at all times, adhering to OSHA standards and site-specific safety procedures to prevent accidents.
Qualifications
- Proven welding experience with a strong understanding of safety practices and protocols.
- Skilled in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and mechanical blueprints.
- Proficient in MIG welding
- Experience operating shop equipment such as press brakes, plasma cutters, power tools, forklifts, and machining tools.
- Mechanical knowledge of fabrication shop operations and manufacturing standards aligned with ASME codes & standards.
- Familiarity with rigging techniques for lifting heavy materials safely on construction or fabrication sites.
- Strong attention to detail with basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations.
