What are the responsibilities and job description for the Door and Hardware Installer position at Load Trail LLC?
The Hardware Installer is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient installation, lubrication, and maintenance of trailer hardware components and moving assemblies. This role plays a critical part in ensuring all installed components operate smoothly, meet quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply grease to inserts and moving components to ensure smooth operation and reduce wear on mechanical parts.
- Grease points of motion on components including:
- Toolboxes
- Ramp pocket covers
- Scissor assemblies
- Jacks
- Axle bolt kits
- Hinged assemblies and other moving hardware
- Install and secure trailer hardware components such as:
- Jacks and jack bars
- Spare tire mount bolts
- Ramp pins
- Removable side rails
- Install decals and labels accurately according to company specifications and production requirements.
- Remove and replace fenders as needed during assembly or repair processes.
- Read and interpret work tickets, job orders, and production instructions to ensure correct parts and hardware are selected and installed.
- Verify that all pins, clips, decals, and fastening components are properly aligned, centered, and secured for safe and efficient operation.
- Clean excess grease from finished assemblies and maintain a clean appearance on completed products.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and work areas, including proper handling and disposal of grease and related materials.
- Inspect installed hardware and decals for proper fit, placement, function, and overall quality before completion.
- Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and production guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· Kneel, bend, and crouch
· Lift and Stand for over 8 hours
· Comfortably operate a Grease Gun including in hard-to-reach areas
· Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
Work schedule general hours are 6am-3pm M-Thurs and 6am-12pm on Friday.
Due to production demands, staffing shortages, or business needs, employees may be required to work overtime. Refusal to work mandatory overtime without prior approval may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
The company will strive to provide reasonable notice of required overtime.
However, in urgent or emergency situations, immediate overtime may be necessary without prior notice.
