Role:
Provides intra-operative assistance to the surgical team, collaborating with surgeons and healthcare staff during various surgical procedures. Responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering advanced nursing care, including handling instruments, tissue manipulation, hemostasis, suturing, and patient evaluation post-operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Performs pre-operative assessments, supports intra-operative tasks following standards and protocols, maintains sterile techniques, assists with room setup, patient positioning, and transfer, and participates in post-operative care and education. Ensures communication among team members to maintain continuity of care and promotes a safe, efficient surgical environment.
Qualifications:
Requires minimum two years of peri-operative scrubbing and circulating experience or one year as an RNFA. Must hold certification from an AORN-recognized RNFA program, Oregon RN license, Nurse Operating Room Certificate, and BLS. Maintaining CNOR and RN licensure with ongoing education is necessary.
Skills & Certifications:
Clinical proficiency in surgical assistance, sterile technique, patient care, and intra-operative procedures. Preferred qualifications include CRNFA certification and ACLS certification. The role involves participating in on-call rotations and adhering to professional standards and protocols.
