Role Overview:
Provides anesthesia care in the operating room to support surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures under the supervision of an anesthesiologist. Responsibilities include preoperative evaluation, intraoperative anesthesia management, and postoperative follow-up, acting as a patient advocate and liaison between patients, families, and medical staff.
Key Duties:
- Anesthetizes patients, selects appropriate drugs, induces and maintains anesthesia, and adjusts medications as needed.
- Monitors patient status, interprets hemodynamic data, and takes corrective actions to ensure stability throughout perioperative phases.
- Performs thorough preoperative assessments, reviews patient charts, and organizes necessary equipment and medications.
- Coordinates with surgical team and ancillary staff to ensure a safe environment, including patient positioning and equipment troubleshooting.
- Responds to emergencies, maintains airway, and provides anesthesia support across assigned areas.
- Documents patient care accurately in electronic medical records and transports patients safely post-procedure.
- Acts as a mentor and preceptor to peers, staff, residents, and students, sharing expertise in anesthesia practice.
Master's Degree in Nursing required, with strong communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills. Experience in anesthesia care and the ability to work effectively in a clinical environment are essential.
