Role Overview: Provides anesthesia care in the operating room to support surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures under the supervision of an anesthesiologist. Responsible for preoperative evaluation, intraoperative monitoring, and postoperative follow-up, acting as a patient advocate and liaison among patients, families, and physicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Anesthetizes patients, selects drugs, and manages anesthesia induction and maintenance.
- Monitors patient status, interprets hemodynamic data, and adjusts medications as needed.
- Communicates patient condition with surgical team and assesses equipment and patient stability.
- Performs preoperative evaluations, organizes OR setup, and conducts diagnostic equipment checks.
- Coordinates with staff to ensure patient safety, responds to emergencies, and maintains airway during codes.
- Accurately documents care in patient EMR and safely transports patients post-procedure.
- Acts as a mentor and preceptor to peers, staff, residents, and students, fostering a collaborative environment.
Qualifications & Skills: Master’s Degree in Nursing is required. The role demands strong clinical judgment, excellent communication, teamwork, and the ability to adapt to dynamic situations within a clinical setting.
