Job Title: Safety Manager
Location: Richmond, VA, 23218 (On-site – daily commuting distance of Charlottesville/Richmond area)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of construction safety across multiple projects in Central Virginia. They will be required to travel daily to different job sites, ensuring compliance with all safety, health, and regulatory requirements, including comprehensive OSHA compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-job safety meetings with all subcontractors.
- Assist project teams with subcontractor onboarding, including collecting safety submittals and database entry.
- Conduct regular, mandatory site safety orientations and meetings with teams and subcontractors.
- Perform site walkthroughs and inspections to identify hazards, implement immediate corrective actions, and ensure OSHA compliance.
- Maintain jobsite OSHA records and thoroughly investigate all incidents or injuries.
- Communicate safety concerns effectively to subcontractor leadership and site teams.
- Maintain and update safety databases for all assigned projects.
- Conduct public safety briefings and stand-downs for site personnel.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in construction safety, ideally managing multiple sites.
- Familiarity with safety management in complex construction environments (e.g., mobile/tower cranes, scaffolding, fall protection, excavations) is a plus.
- OSHA 30 certification (required).
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field (preferred).
- BCSP certified or actively pursuing STS-C / CHST certification (preferred).
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certified (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, and other applicable safety standards.
- Competency in identifying safety hazards and implementing corrective actions.
- Spanish fluency is a plus.
- Moderate physical activity required, including walking on rough terrain, climbing stairs/ladders, and standing for long periods.
- Must be able to drive between project sites daily.
- The role is performed on-site, outdoors, in all weather conditions, with exposure to moderate to loud noise levels.
