Position Summary
The Production Planning Manager is responsible for developing and executing both strategic and tactical production schedules across multiple U.S. manufacturing facilities. This role ensures on-time delivery, efficient resource utilization, and strong alignment with procurement, logistics, and international operations. The ideal candidate is analytical, collaborative, and experienced in driving process efficiency through data, systems, and cross-functional coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage production schedules across multiple facilities to maximize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines.
- Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and operations teams to maintain balanced inventory, smooth material flow, and effective production execution.
- Identify and mitigate scheduling risks to ensure operational continuity.
- Support demand planning by working closely with Sales and Procurement, providing insights on lead times, capacity, and feasibility.
- Build and maintain capacity models for both short-term planning and long-term strategic initiatives.
- Lead and contribute to cross-functional planning efforts focused on improving processes and performance.
- Coordinate with international teams in France and Thailand to align global production and import activities.
- Utilize ERP/MRP and planning systems to track KPIs, monitor performance, and drive accountability.
- Support labor and resource planning based on forecasted volume and operational limitations.
- Maintain clear communication and documentation of production plans, making proactive adjustments as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in production planning, supply chain, procurement, or program management.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations within shift-based environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills highly preferred.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems for integrated planning and reporting.
- Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed.
