About HIV/HCV/STI Outreach Coordinator:
Coordinates and delivers HIV, hepatitis, and sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention, testing, treatment, and partner services through field-based clinics and community outreach. Acts as liaison between healthcare providers, public health partners, and community organizations to ensure evidence-based service delivery and client access. Oversees grant compliance, supervises program personnel, manages supplies, and leads community education and coalition activities.
- Plans and conducts HIV/HCV/STI outreach clinics, providing screening, testing, and treatment based on evidence-based protocols.
- Delivers partner services including contact tracing, risk reduction education, partner elicitation, and linkage to medical care.
- Supervises and evaluates the work of interns, contractors, and program staff involved in outreach and clinical service delivery.
- Coordinates referrals and re-engagement to care for persons living with HIV, HCV, and other STIs, in collaboration with the Bureau of HIV, STD, and Hepatitis.
- Prepares and executes grant and contract deliverables, including progress reporting and documentation of outcome metrics.
- Engages with community partners, health providers, and coalitions to promote awareness of current STI treatment guidelines and outreach opportunities.
- Oversees inventory management, including ordering and distribution of condoms, medications, and testing supplies to community partners and clinic sites.
- Conducts educational presentations to the public, professional audiences, and community stakeholders to increase awareness of sexual health issues.
- Coordinates with state and local Disease Intervention Specialists (DIS) on partner services, referrals, and outbreak/cluster responses.
- Enters and maintains confidential client and program data in secure systems to ensure compliance with CDC and state reporting standards.
- Leads and participates in local sexual health coalitions.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
- Six (6) months to one (1) year of experience in the prevention and investigation of communicable diseases required.
- Valid State of Iowa driver’s license required. Must have own transportation with auto insurance.
