What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Visualization Coordinator position at Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP?
Data Visualization Coordinator
LINEBARGER GOGGAN BLAIR & SAMPSON, LLP - Austin, TX
$55,000 - $75,000 a year
Linebarger’s Communications & Marketing Services (CMS) Department seeks a Data Visualization Coordinator to support the firm’s proposal and business development efforts. Proposals are a critical component of how the firm wins new government clients and retains existing ones.
The Data Coordinator works with the firm’s performance data to identify, analyze, and present insights that demonstrate the firm’s results and capabilities to prospective clients. A key component of this role is translating complex data into clear, visually compelling formats—such as charts, graphs, and summaries—that can be easily understood by non-technical audiences, including government officials and procurement teams. This role requires not only strong technical skills, but also the ability to evaluate which data is most relevant, develop meaningful comparisons, and communicate recommendations to attorneys and firm leadership.
In addition to supporting individual proposals, this role works with the firm’s existing performance data to prepare and maintain materials used across proposals and other client-facing and marketing deliverables. The position sits at the intersection of data, strategy, and storytelling, helping to shape how the firm demonstrates its impact and value to government clients. Data must be presented accurately, with clarity and impact, as prospective clients rely on this information to evaluate how the firm would perform on their behalf.
Strategic Responsibilities
This role goes beyond formatting data and requires judgment in selecting, interpreting, and presenting the right data for each proposal.
Review upcoming proposals and determine which clients’ performance data is most relevant to highlight (e.g., identifying cities or counties with similar size, demographics, and services such as collections for court fees & fines, tolls, or property taxes)
Build familiarity with the firm’s client base and performance data over time, including understanding which jurisdictions are strong performers and when that data is most compelling to use in proposals
Analyze performance data and determine how best to present it—through charts, graphs, tables, and summaries—in a way that is clear, visually intuitive, and persuasive for non-technical audiences
Work directly with attorneys to refine data selections, respond to feedback, and adjust materials—often with quick turnarounds and changing direction close to deadlines
Maintain and update firmwide statistics used across proposals and marketing materials, including client counts, client retention rates, attorney counts, office locations, and other firmwide metrics
Prepare and update Professional Qualifications (PQs), which are condensed versions of proposals used for client renewals, presentations, and informal requests
Extract data from state agency and client tax office reports to support proposal development and internal needs
Maintain and update visual data assets, including organizational charts and U.S. and Texas maps reflecting office locations, client counts, and attorney coverage
Ensure consistency and accuracy of data across proposals, PQs, and other marketing materials
What It Takes to Succeed
Ability to make informed recommendations with limited information
Comfort working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments with shifting priorities
Confidence interacting with attorneys and responding to feedback or last-minute changes
Strong critical thinking and judgment, beyond basic data processing
Ability to quickly build familiarity with geographic regions, client types, and internal data sets
Ability to translate complex data into clear, visually intuitive formats for non-technical audiences
Required Experience:
Experience working with data to support business decisions, research, or reporting (e.g., proposals, consulting, public sector, or similar environments)
2-5 years of relevant analytical or data-related experience
Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; ability to work with and present data clearly
Desired Credentials
College degree
Experience with Oracle
Working knowledge of the collections industry
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
Work Location
In-office in Austin, TX
