JOB TITLE: FIELD COLLECTOR– COLLECTIONS DEPARTMENT
REPORTS TO: COLLECTIONS MANAGER
JOB OVERVIEW (PRIMARY PURPOSE):
Seeking a dynamic individual with exceptional skills and proven collection background. Candidate must have excellent math, organizational, communication, writing, and computer skills. This position is responsible for the collection of delinquent taxes owed to local governmental entity clients. Collection efforts are accomplished by proactively contacting taxpayers via phone, correspondence and emails including conducting site visits in the field. Site visits may require walking and driving for extended periods of time. Field Collectors work in an assigned geographical area and will manage their own queue of assigned collection inventory. This role also requires in-town travel up to 70% of the assigned work time and a reliable means of transportation is required.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Experience: Approximately three (3) years of experience in a formal collection environment OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Government experience / government tax knowledge a plus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:
Managing daily site visits and meet weekly site visit goals, conduct skip tracing techniques,and communicating with taxpayers.
Utilizing effective communication techniques with taxpayers to identify issues, negotiate payment in full or payment arrangements in accordance with federal, state, firm and client
guidelines.
Fully and accurately document Oracle system with updates and results of pending and
completed work.
Review inventory of accounts to determine next collection or litigation step, makes
recommendations to management regarding next course of action.
Identifies accounts that require management or attorney intervention
Assist walk-in taxpayers and the public as needed to resolve questions and issues related to their tax obligations.
Provide monthly activity and collection outcomes to the Manager/Assistant Manager
Valid Texas Driver license, excellent driving record, and reliable means of transportation
Work on special collection projects as assigned.

9. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with the public.
10. Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound business and ethical decisions protecting the interests of the client and the law firm at all times.
11. Ability to maintain confidentiality of all matters related to client and firm business.
12. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Oracle
Pay: $45,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
