Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Assistant Track and Field Coach with expertise in throwing events (shot put, discus, javelin, hammer, etc.). The successful candidate will assist the Head Coach in developing athletes’ skills in throwing events, fostering a positive and competitive environment, and ensuring athletes' success both on and off the field. Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Head Track and Field Coach in organizing and supervising practices and competitions with a focus on throwing events.
- Provide individualized coaching to athletes in shot put, discus, javelin, and other throwing disciplines.
- Help develop and implement training programs that focus on strength, technique, and strategy for improving performance in throwing events.
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic responsibility among studentathletes.
- Monitor athletes' progress and provide feedback for improvement.
- Ensure athletes’ safety by maintaining a structured and positive practice environment.
- Assist with recruitment and evaluation of potential athletes.
- Attend all scheduled practices, meets, and relevant school functions.
- Communicate effectively with the Head Coach, athletes, parents, and administration.
- Uphold the school’s values and represent the program in a professional manner at all times. Qualifications:
- Previous experience coaching or competing in track and field with a specialization in throwing events.
- Strong knowledge of throwing techniques and training methods.
- Ability to inspire and motivate studentathletes.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the coaching staff and administration.
- Clearances: FBI fingerprints, PA state background check, child abuse history clearance, and a physical examination.
