SUMMARY:
The Food Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the company complies with all Food Safety standards by assuring all documentation, records, and Food Safety issues are logged and documented accurately.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Works closely with Food Safety Director, Packinghouse and Farming teams in the areas of inspection, coordination and testing requirements.
- Train Packinghouse and Farming employees on Food Safety requirements; aid employees through periodic reviews and continuous coaching.
- Maintain daily company-wide Food Safety records, logs and associated documents, collect and record data on Food Safety inputs such as temperature, chemical usage, miscellaneous variables, etc.
- Initiate corrective action and ensure execution of identified items discovered during routine inspections and audits
- Assists Food Safety Director with annual Food Safety audits.
- Performs environmental testing of equipment used and manage weekly Maximum Residue Level sampling for all fruit managed
- Works with the Cleaning and Sanitation Crew, Packinghouse and Farming personnel to ensure practical compliance with all Food Safety requirements for the Company
- Conduct facility walkthroughs to ensure all staff compliance of all Safety, Food Safety, Plant, State, OSHA, EPA, CDFA, FDA, HACCP, and GFSI rules and regulations.
- Coordinate and implement food safety special projects as needed.
- Visual verification of control point and operators throughout the workday.
- Assists in mock recalls with packinghouses and customers.
- Assist in the sanitation department with training and coverage to the Sanitaion Manager when needed.
- Other tasks as directed by Food Safety or Management.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred; a minimum of two (2) years experience in Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Sanitation or other relevant experience; possess a valid California driver’s license, maintain a clean DMV record, and is able to be insured by our carrier.

Must be computer literate and able to utilize multiple software programs; must be fluent in English and Spanish, must be able to communicate openly and be clear and understandable when communicating verbally and/or in writing; must be able to read, comprehend, and follow instructions; must have a complete understanding of general office procedures and practices
