SUMMARY:
The Sanitation Lead is responsible for assisting in planning, developing, implementation and execution under the direction of the Sanitation Manager. The Sanitation Lead will work closely with Sanitation Manager, Quality Assurance, and Production teams to coordinate sanitation schedules, oversee sanitation staff, and continuously assist in improving sanitation and CIP programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Lead and coordinate sanitation activities assigned by the Manager in the packinghouses
- Assume the leadership role in the absence of the Sanitation Manager
- Maintain all required documentation for Sanitation
- Monitor and document cleaning cycle times, chemical concentrations, flow rates, temperatures, and sanitation effectiveness.
- Ensure sanitation practices support food safety, quality standards, GMPs, SOPs, and SSOPs.
- Operate and oversee CIP systems, including disassembly, cleaning, sanitation, reassembly, and verification.
- Support Supervisor with compiling, reviewing, completing, and maintaining all documentation ensuring audit readiness at all times
- Adhere to Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), Total Plate Counts (TPC), and Listeria testing schedules; follow all developed cleaning methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems
- Supervise employees and ensure employees comply with best practices, policies, procedures, and applicable laws
- Perform all other duties as directed by the Supervisor or Management
- Must comply and enforce all Safety and Food Safety rules, regulations and company policies and requirement
- Maintain proper waste management practices throughout the facility.
- Strong knowledge of CIP systems and sanitation validation
- Assist with sanitation documentation, audits, and corrective actions

- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; must have one to three years experience in sanitation or related; possess a valid California driver’s license, maintain a clean DMV record, and is able to be insured by our carrier.

Must be computer literate and able to utilize multiple software programs; must be fluent in English and Spanish, must be able to communicate openly and be clear and understandable when communicating verbally and/or in writing; must be able to read, comprehend, and follow instructions; must have a complete understanding of general office procedures and practices; must provide leadership and guidance to employees and delegate tasks; must motivate and encourage employees to reach their maximum potential
