Dishwasher-Marshall Retreat Center

The LightEn Center of Consciousness & Action (LCCA) is a new 500-acre retreat center in the Blue Ridge mountains in Marshall, North Carolina. LCCA will serve as a soul-focused sanctuary and learning center for individual and collective growth, exploration and transformation, focused on catalyzing the evolution of consciousness needed to solve humanity’s greatest challenges. The Center will host current and emerging leaders to cultivate and deepen the inner work needed to be more effective change agents in the world. LCCA is the home of LightEn US, which is part of the overall LightEn network. The center features five teaching spaces, event hall, dining hall, auditorium, spa and fitness center, reception building, administrative building, horticulture complex and 76 guest cabins. Currently there are about 40 LCCA team members. The Room Attendant will report to the Director of Housekeeping as part of the Housekeeping Team. In addition to the core competencies outlined below, the right candidate will have resonance with LightEn’s vision, be flexible, have the desire to learn, maintain a willingness to contribute when needed, and an ability to lead from a place of inclusiveness, kindness, and service.

The Steward (Dishwasher) role represents an exceptional opportunity for a diligent professional to join LightEn US in its start-up phase.

JOB PURPOSE:

We are seeking a dedicated and well-rounded Dishwasher to join our team and help support efficient and smooth Kitchen operations . All team members are expected to model LightEn’s approach and values of reflection, collaboration, and soul-infused action and are encouraged and supported to do so throughout their own practices.

Specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Wash, organize and inventory china, glassware, silverware, utensils, pots and pans per standards.
• Sweep and mop walk in refrigerators and, kitchen areas, moving shelving as needed, using proper equipment.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines (handwashing, chemical use, food safety standards)
• Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment, including monitoring chemical levels, deliming, proper cleaning, closing down and reporting issues·
• Maintain steady workflow to support kitchen service and avoid delays.
• Assist with opening and closing tasks to ensure kitchen readiness.
• Empty and wash garbage cans.
• Dispose of trash and compost properly.
• Maintain proper storage of dish, glass and flatware racks.
• Stock plates, bowls and service items on hot and cold lines, buffet area and designated storage locations.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE:

• Stand for extended periods of time.
• Actively engage in walking on and around campus, up/down hills, through trails in all weather conditions.
• Climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or smell.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Team members must wear LCCA provided uniforms and maintain a neat appearance while on duty.

SALARY BENEFITS: The starting salary for this role is $20 per hour. Full health, dental and vision benefits with 100% of premiums paid by LCCA, paid time off, paid sick time, 403(b) retirement savings and up to 6% company match, fresh vegetarian lunch provided daily along with professional and personal development opportunities and 3 sets of uniforms.
