Campus Attendant

The LightEn Center of Consciousness & Action (LCCA) is a new 500-acre retreat center in the Blue Ridge mountains in Marshall, North Carolina. LCCA will serve as a soul-focused sanctuary and learning center for individual and collective growth, exploration and transformation, focused on catalyzing the evolution of consciousness needed to solve humanity’s greatest challenges. The Center will host current and emerging leaders to cultivate and deepen the inner work needed to be more effective change agents in the world. LCCA is the home of LightEn US, which is part of the overall LightEn network. The center features five teaching spaces, event hall, dining hall, auditorium, spa and fitness center, reception building, administrative building, horticulture complex and 76 guest cabins. Currently there are about 40 LCCA team members. The Room Attendant will report to the Director of Housekeeping as part of the Housekeeping Team. In addition to the core competencies outlined below, the right candidate will have resonance with LightEn’s vision, be flexible, have the desire to learn, maintain a willingness to contribute when needed, and an ability to lead from a place of inclusiveness, kindness, and service.

JOB PURPOSE:

We are seeking a dedicated and well-rounded Campus Attendant to join our team and help attend to guest cabins and all buildings throughout the property. All team members are expected to model LightEn’s approach and values of reflection, collaboration, and soul-infused action and are encouraged and supported to do so throughout their own practices. 

Specific Job Responsibilities:

• Support Housekeepers in cleaning rooms, delivering and stocking products.
• Clean and maintain furniture across campus.
• Mop floors and deep clean all public areas of the Center.
• Communicate when repairs are needed and collaborate closely with the Engineering Team and input work orders through the dedicated software system.
• Take out trash and recycling from across campus.
• Be a steward of campus, helping to create a clean, welcoming and organized space.
• Care for and organize tools, supplies, and storerooms for the Housekeeping Department.
• Transport operating supplies to/from cabins, other campus buildings and other storage facilities.
• Support set up and breakdown of spaces for meetings, programs, staff and guests as needed.
• Other special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned by the leadership team.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience in housekeeping or domestic work, a plus.

• Knowledge or interest in our mission, vision, and culture
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business demands, including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to cross-train and support additional functions at LCCA, a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE:

• Actively engage in extensive walking on and around campus, up/down hills, through trails in all weather conditions.
• Climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or smell.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to be trained on and safely drive a small electric vehicle and/or golf cart on campus.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Team members must wear LCCA provided uniforms and maintain a neat appearance while on duty.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma and/or equivalent work experience.
• Previous experience in housekeeping or domestic work, a plus.

SALARY BENEFITS:
