Housekeeper

The LightEn Center of Consciousness & Action (LCCA) is a new 500-acre retreat center in the Blue Ridge mountains in Marshall, North Carolina. LCCA will serve as a soul-focused sanctuary and learning center for individual and collective growth, exploration and transformation, focused on catalyzing the evolution of consciousness needed to solve humanity’s greatest challenges. The Center will host current and emerging leaders to cultivate and deepen the inner work needed to be more effective change agents in the world. LCCA is the home of LightEn US, which is part of the overall LightEn network. The center features five teaching spaces, event hall, dining hall, auditorium, spa and fitness center, reception building, administrative building, horticulture complex and 76 guest cabins. Currently there are about 40 LCCA team members. The Room Attendant will report to the Director of Housekeeping as part of the Housekeeping Team. In addition to the core competencies outlined below, the right candidate will have resonance with LightEn’s vision, be flexible, have the desire to learn, maintain a willingness to contribute when needed, and an ability to lead from a place of inclusiveness, kindness, and service.

JOB PURPOSE:

We are seeking dedicated and well-rounded Housekeepers to join our team and help attend to guest cabins and all buildings throughout the property. Working closely with their teammates, this role focuses on maintaining the cleanliness of the buildings and common spaces on campus. The team helps to create welcoming, organized, and clean space.

All team members are expected to model LightEn’s approach and values of reflection, collaboration, and soul-infused action and are encouraged and supported to do so throughout their own practices. 

Specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Clean cabins, guest houses, and buildings and maintain upkeep of furniture in all structures across the campus.
• Mop floors and deep clean all buildings.
• Care for and organize tools, supplies, and storerooms.
• Launder linens and make beds in guest cabins.
• Communicate with the team Supervisor or Director of Housekeeping when repairs are needed or input work orders through work order system.
• Cross train and cover the campus attendant position when needed.
• Transport operating supplies to/from the heart of the house to other storage facilities.
• Other special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excitement for working collaboratively with a team and sharing your knowledge.
• Strong communication, active listening, and problem-solving skills, flexibility, and ability to work independently.
• Conduct work in a safe, clean, and calm manner that supports an exceptional guest experience.
• Previous experience in housekeeping or domestic work, a plus.
• Ability and willingness to build meaningful relationships.
• Provide warm and welcoming interactions with guests, with humility, kindness, and an open heart, delivering an exceptional guest experience.
• Knowledge or interest in our mission, vision, and culture
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business demands, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE:

Housekeepers are regularly required to:

• Actively engage in extensive walking on and around campus, up/down hills, through trails in all weather conditions.
• Climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or smell.
• Willingness and ability to be trained to drive a small electric veihicle and/or golf cart.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Team members must wear LCCA provided uniforms and maintain a neat appearance while on duty.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma and/or equivalent work experience.

SALARY BENEFITS: $20 per hour starting salary with full health, dental and vision benefits, paid time off, paid sick time, 403(b) retirement savings and up to 6% company match, fresh vegetarian lunch provided daily along with professional and personal development opportunities and 3 sets of uniforms.
