What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crisis Clinician position at LifeWays?
Are you passionate about helping people in their most critical moments? LifeWays is seeking a skilled Crisis Clinician to provide immediate, trauma-informed support to individuals experiencing emotional or mental health crises. You’ll lead teams in the field, conduct risk assessments, create safety plans, and connect people to the right resources—all while embodying LifeWays’ mission and values.
What You’ll Do:
- Respond to crisis calls and coordinate a rapid, effective response.
- Lead Mobile Crisis Aides and Peer Support Specialists during interventions.
- Conduct assessments, develop safety plans, and ensure smooth handoffs to services.
- Promote safety, emotional stability, and coping skills for individuals and families.
- Document interventions and follow-ups in the electronic medical record.
Required Education/Certification/Licensure
- BSW Clinician: Licensed bachelor’s social worker, or limited-licensed bachelor’s social worker acting within their scope of practice and supervised by a Mental Health Professional who is a licensed master's social worker.
- Clinician I: Master’s degree. Limited Licensed Masters Social Worker (LLMSW), Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC), Limited Licensed Psychologist (LLP).
- Clinician II: Master’s degree. Fully Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW), Fully Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Fully Licensed Psychologist (LP).
- Clinician III: Master’s degree. Fully Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW), Fully Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Fully Licensed Psychologist (LP) and is paneled/credentialed to bill for a variety of private insurances or is fully trained/certified to provide licensure supervision within their education and scope of practice.
- Must possess a valid U.S. motor vehicle operator’s license, and successfully complete motor vehicle record check.
Preferred Education/Certification/Licensure
- Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)/Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC)
- Completion Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) training.
Salary : $58,714 - $84,588
