About the Role:
Are you passionate about creating meaningful social experiences and recreational opportunities for high functioning adults with developmental disabilities? Our day program is seeking a part-time Social Connection Coach to lead engaging, inclusive, and recreational activities that promote teamwork, relationship-building, and physical wellness.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys planning group outings, facilitating team sports, and leading hiking adventures—all while helping participants build confidence, communication skills, and lasting friendships.
What you'll do:
- Plan and lead daily social and recreational activities including team sports and community outings.
- Facilitate group-based experiences that promote social skill development, teamwork, and emotional connection.
- Support participants in practicing communication, empathy, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure all activities are active, inclusive, and safe.
- Transport clients in company vehicles (8-9 passenger vans)
- Work with co-leaders and community partners to plan and deliver trainings
What we are looking for:

Required:
- Experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a day program or recreational setting.
- 4 hour shift (Afternoon) Monday -Friday
- Strong group facilitation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead both indoor and outdoor activities, including sports and hiking.
- High school diploma or GED
- Must possess and maintain a valid CA driver’s license and at least state-minimum car insurance
- Must be at least 25 years of age (for insurance purposes)
- Must possess and maintain a clean driving record (no moving violations, at-fault accidents, etc.)
- Must have moderate smart cell phone and computer skills.
- Possess a valid certificate of completion of first aid and CPR training or the ability to obtain one upon hire
- Maintain current and valid licenses, certificates, or registrations that may be legally required to provide the service.
- Must pass a background check.
Preferred:
- Background in recreation therapy, kinesiology, psychology, or related field.
- Experience with adaptive sports, outdoor education, or wellness programming.
- Knowledge of safety protocols for outdoor activities.
