Location: Pasadena, CA (In-person at Pasadena Unified School District schools)
Compensation: $150/day of teaching
About the Program
The Social Impact Student Leadership Program empowers middle and high school students to understand leadership, social change, and systemic issues while guiding them to design and launch community service projects that create lasting, sustainable impact.
Role Overview
We are seeking an engaging and experienced Learning Coach to join our team this Fall and Spring. In this role, you’ll lead workshop-style sessions once or twice a week at Pasadena Unified School District schools. Each term runs up to 8 weeks.
As a Learning Coach, you will:
- Facilitate interactive workshops that inspire students to think critically about leadership, equity, and social change.
- Guide students through the process of identifying local challenges and creating meaningful community service projects.
- Mentor and encourage students, fostering confidence, creativity, and collaboration.
- Adapt content and facilitation style to meet diverse needs and learning styles.
- Serve as a positive role model while maintaining flexibility and responsiveness in the classroom.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with middle or high school students in a classroom, workshop, assembly, or similar setting.
- Strong ability to connect with and mentor young people in an authentic and approachable way.
- Skilled at working with a wide range of personalities and challenges.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- Creative, flexible, and able to think on your feet.
- Experience in project management or guiding students through hands-on projects.
- Passion for leadership development, mentoring, and social impact.
- Commitment to teaching once per week in Pasadena schools for up to 8 weeks per term (Fall and Spring).
