Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, Hybrid

You, our Ideal Candidate

The Staff Accountant is responsible for recording and reporting the financial transactions of all LEC entities . This includes filing taxes, maintaining fixed asset records , accounting for restricted gifts, and other tasks related to accounting . The Staff Accountant is also responsible for handling disbursements and creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization . This position requires a well-organized and analytical professional with an open and approachable demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Determine and record journal entries into accounting system for various transactions in an accurate and timely manner
• Reconcile ledger accounts on monthly basis and report details making up the balance
• Record and monitor gifts to the Foundation, determine gift purpose and account for them in accordance with UPMIFA standards
• Prepare and fi le sale s tax reports and supporting documentation for the corporate tax return
• Maintain fixed asset records in an accurate and timely manner
• Monitor and record construction progress and s ubmit construction draws for reimbursement
• Establish and monitor e ntrance fees within AV Powell including proper monthly amortization and relief of fees upon contract termination
• C reat e and upload corporate budget file templates
• Maintain records and provide support for external audits
  
  

Requirements

• Associates degree in a ccounting preferred
• Previous experience in accounting preferred
• Microsoft office proficiency , familiarity with AOD, SAGE Fixed Asset Software (FAS), AV Powell (Forecast 7)
• Raisers Edge preferred
