IT TECHNICIAN - LHS
Overview: This position serves as primary contact and support for users of all District
I.T. supported systems, applications, and services and provides for the proper
functioning of educational technologies including, but not limited to,
computer systems, mobile devices, software, networking, and audio/visual
technologies.
Reports to: Coordinator of Information Technology
Director of Information Technology
Employee Status: Educational Support Professional
ESP Bargaining Union, Tier T3
Calendar: Twelve-Month Employee, 7:30am - 4:00pm, on-site, primarily indoors
The person must be able to work within a flexible schedule and work
numerous evenings during the school year in support of various
district-sponsored events and activities
Qualifications: Education and experience equivalent to high school graduation
Professional/Personal Characteristics:
? CompTIA A certification, Avixa CTS, or equivalent experience
? Previous experience in an educational setting preferred
? Excellent organizational and time management skills
? Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently under varying deadlines
? Strong communication and interpersonal skills
? Ability to identify sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
? Comprehensive knowledge of and experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft
Windows, Apple macOS and iOS, Google ChromeOS, and computer-based hardware and
software in an educational environment
? Experience with the operation and installation of audio, video and lighting technologies
in an educational environment
? This individual will maintain an exceptionally high cyber security posture at all times
? This position requires that the individual be able to lift and transport heavy to
moderately heavy objects, as well as climb ladders, route cables underneath desks,
and operate in various mechanical areas typically inaccessible to the public
? This person must be able to communicate effectively with high school students and
staff in a positive and proactive manner
? This individual will posses a valid drivers license and reliable transportation
Job Responsibilities:
? Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, deploys and repairs all district technology including
hardware, software, operating systems, and audio visual equipment;
? Coordinates and consults on an ongoing basis with the I.T. Coordinators in deploying and
providing the ongoing maintenance and support of effective instructional and
administrative technology solutions which support the district’s goals and objectives;
? Collaborates with and provides research for the I.T. Coordinators to ensure reliable,
secure, and efficient operation of the educational technology environment;
? Understands the importance of and implements good practices in maintaining an accurate
inventory of all district equipment;
? Supports morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend events on a rotating basis;
? Accurately documents all support requests and solutions;
? Assists in the development of long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting
future District I.T. needs;
? Assists the District I.T. Department with other duties as assigned
