We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to join our dynamic automotive dealership team. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity designed for a motivated accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is looking to grow into a long-term leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Controller in managing all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, GL, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and assist with year-end audits.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, dealership policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with department managers to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
- Maintain and improve accounting systems and processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the automotive dealership industry.
- Strong knowledge of dealership management systems (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.
