Strategic Sourcing Manager - Healthcare

Location: 100% Remote

Compensation: $50 - $60 per hour DOE

Duration: 6 month contract with potential for conversion to permanent hire

Hours: M-F, Full-Time (PST hours)

Position Summary

LHH Recruitment is seeking an experienced strategic sourcing leader to oversee high-impact sourcing initiatives across a diverse portfolio of business services.This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, leading supplier strategy, contract negotiations, cost optimization efforts, and risk management activities.

The ideal candidate will bring a consultative approach to procurement, combining deep sourcing expertise with strong business acumen to influence decision-making, improve supplier performance, and deliver measurable value across the organization. In addition to managing complex vendor relationships, this role will provide guidance and mentorship to sourcing professionals while helping advance supplier diversity and responsible sourcing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement Leadership

• Design and execute category management plans for complex service-based spend areas.
• Analyze spending trends, supplier markets, and business requirements to identify sourcing opportunities.
• Develop procurement strategies that balance cost, quality, service, innovation, and risk.
• Lead competitive sourcing events including RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, e-auctions, and vendor evaluations.
• Drive supplier consolidation, value creation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Contracting & Negotiations

• Structure and negotiate agreements that protect organizational interests while achieving favorable business terms.
• Manage the full contract lifecycle, including drafting, redlining, approvals, renewals, and performance monitoring.
• Assess contractual risks and provide recommendations to stakeholders on mitigation strategies.
• Ensure procurement activities align with governance, compliance, and audit requirements.

Supplier Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key vendors and service providers.
• Conduct regular business reviews and performance assessments.
• Monitor supplier service levels, contract compliance, quality metrics, and cost performance.
• Partner with suppliers to identify innovation opportunities and operational efficiencies.

Business Partnership

• Collaborate closely with leaders across technology, operations, marketing, professional services, facilities, and healthcare-related functions.
• Provide procurement expertise during planning, budgeting, and project execution.
• Promote adoption of procurement best practices and sourcing policies throughout the organization.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for supplier and contract-related matters.

Team Leadership & Development

• Act as a senior resource and mentor to procurement team members.
• Support onboarding, training, and professional development efforts.
• Foster a culture focused on accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
• Help lead organizational change initiatives related to sourcing and supplier management.

Qualifications

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• 7 years of procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or vendor management experience within the Healthcare industry is required.
• Demonstrated success negotiating high-value contracts and managing key supplier relationships.
• Strong understanding of procurement methodologies, category management, and total cost of ownership principles.
• Experience influencing stakeholders and driving change across multiple business functions.
• Excellent analytical, presentation, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
• Experience conducting market intelligence and competitive supplier analysis.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and procurement technology platforms.
• Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM), eSourcing tools, and ERP/procurement systems.
