What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at LHH?
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Staff Accountant to work in a company in the legal industry. This role supports the organization’s financial operations, including general ledger management, financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, month-end close, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Project accounting is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general ledger accounting, journal entries, and month end close processes for a legal services organization.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and complete financial and variance analysis.
- Conduct account and bank reconciliations, including maintaining fixed asset schedules and resolving discrepancies.
- Support financial controls, audits, budgeting, payroll reconciliation, tax filings, and related accounting processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Legal industry experience preferred
- CPA or CPA track strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
Compensation:
$80,000-$85,000
