A leading real estate and property management organization based in Irvine, CA is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Sr Property Accountant to oversee financial accuracy and support operational excellence across its property portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for multiple properties, ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
- Manage full-cycle accounting for property operations, including AP/AR, tenant billing, and CAM reconciliations.
- Perform bank reconciliations, journal entries, and assist with month-end and year-end close.
- Oversee property budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis to support strategic decisions.
- Coordinate with property managers and leasing teams to ensure accurate reporting of occupancy, rent schedules, and expense allocations.
- Liaise with external auditors and support annual audits and tax filings.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in property accounting workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 4 years of property or real estate accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and real estate accounting principles.
- Proficiency in property management systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
