Senior Payroll Administrator

We are partnering with a growing organization in North Nashville seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to join their team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll professional with strong expertise in multi-state payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, and process improvement initiatives. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll operations while helping enhance efficiencies across processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll for multi-state employee populations on a weekly, biweekly, or semi-monthly basis
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, including filings, reconciliations, and year-end reporting (W-2s, etc.)
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, tax issues, and employee inquiries with a high level of professionalism
• Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure data integrity within the payroll system
• Partner with HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure seamless payroll operations
• Lead and support process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, and reduce manual processes
• Assist with payroll audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
• Stay informed on evolving payroll laws and regulations across multiple states

Qualifications

• 3 years of progressive payroll experience, including multi-state payroll processing
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements
• Experience handling complex payroll scenarios (e.g., multi-entity, high-volume, or multi-state environments)
• Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements within payroll operations
• Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, UKG, or similar)
• High attention to detail with strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally

Job Location: in-office
