Position Summary
LHH Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced Sr. HR Generalist to join our client's team in Portland, OR. This role will be primarily focused on employee relations, including conducting full-cycle investigations, resolving workplace issues, and fostering a positive and compliant work environment. The ideal candidate will bring at least 3 years of HR experience with a strong emphasis on employee relations, preferably within a Non-Profit or similar setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
- Conduct interviews, gather documentation, and write detailed reports for ER cases.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Process and manage leave requests, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies while maintaining accurate records.
- Support benefits administration and HRIS updates as needed.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and refine processes for tracking and resolving ER issues.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Promote a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture aligned with organizational values.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of HR experience with a specific focus on employee relations.
- Bachelor’s degree or similar in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is required.
- Experience in nonprofit or similar environments is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport across teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Track record of consistency and longevity in previous roles.
