Lead Bookkeeper (Sole Accounting)

Compensation: $70,000-$85,000

Overview

We are a small but established manufacturing company (~$10M in revenue) seeking a Lead Bookkeeper to serve as our sole accounting professional. This is a hands-on role where you will own the full accounting function and wear multiple hats day-to-day.

Key Responsibilities

• Full-cycle accounting oversight (AP, AR, GL, reconciliations)
• Month-end and year-end close
• Payroll processing for ~20 employees (ADP)
• Financial reporting and analysis for ownership
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and operational decision-making
• Maintain and improve accounting processes and controls
• Work cross-functionally with operations in a manufacturing environment
• Handle both strategic (controller-level) and transactional (day-to-day bookkeeping) responsibilities

Systems

• Sage 50 (Peachtree)

What We’re Looking For

• Experience as a sole accountant or in a small company environment
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Comfortable wearing multiple hats and handling both high- and low-level work
• Experience in manufacturing accounting is a plus
• Familiarity with Sage 50 or similar accounting systems
• Stable work history and ability to take ownership
