SAP Implementation Procurement Specialist

Position Overview
Our client is seeking a highly skilled SAP Implementation Procurement Specialist with strong Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) implementation experience to support and advance a recently launched SAP S/4HANA – Ariba SCC cloud environment.
This role is responsible for leading a team of individual contributors, managing execution, and driving the continued implementation, configuration, and optimization of Ariba SCC.
The position plays a critical role in modernizing procurement operations by sunsetting legacy financial and supply chain systems while establishing scalable, compliant, and sustainable workflows across a complex public‑sector supply chain environment.
The successful candidate will serve as a strategic and operational partner to procurement, finance, and operations teams, ensuring efficient supplier collaboration while maintaining compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the continued implementation, deployment, and configuration of the SAP S/4HANA Ariba SCC cloud module in collaboration with cross‑functional stakeholders to meet Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) business requirements
- Oversee ongoing system configuration and maintenance across the Ariba/S4HANA cloud environment, including:
- Purchase requisition and purchase order formatting
- Change order enablement
- Contract management
- Multi‑line requisitioning and invoicing
- Invoice automation and returns
- Advanced shipping collaboration, including handling of tariffs, fixed costs, asset recognition, and goods receipts
- Drive data‑ and metrics‑based procurement planning and resource allocation aligned with long‑term business objectives
- Partner with finance and operations teams to optimize SAP and Ariba functionality related to budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and spend analysis
- Design, develop, and refine system‑driven supplier evaluation frameworks to improve data quality, supplier reliability, and operational efficiency
- Identify and mitigate procurement and compliance risks during the transition from legacy systems to the new SAP/Ariba platform
- Lead cross‑functional initiatives that enhance procurement processes, increase visibility into sourcing opportunities, and support supplier diversity and sustainability goals
- Manage day‑to‑day operational performance of the team, including workflow, throughput, accuracy, compliance, and delivery against established timelines and budgets
- Provide ongoing performance management, coaching, and development for direct reports
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Business, Analytics, or a related discipline preferred
- Proven hands‑on experience with SAP Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration (SCC) and Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) implementations
- Strong background leading or supporting SAP S/4HANA and Ariba cloud deployments
- Demonstrated experience managing teams and driving performance in a complex, highly regulated environment
- Strong understanding of procurement operations, supplier collaboration, and compliance requirements
- Excellent cross‑functional communication and stakeholder management skills
In accordance with New York salary transparency requirements, the anticipated annual base salary range for this position is: $95,000-$135,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated project leadership background.
