Safety Manager


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and continuously improve occupational health and safety programs within a construction or industrial operating environment. This role is responsible for driving a proactive safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing risk, and supporting operational leaders in maintaining safe and efficient worksites.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in safety program management, regulatory compliance, and employee training, with the ability to influence safety outcomes across multiple locations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs to minimize workplace injuries, illnesses, and financial losses
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate hazardous conditions through audits, inspections, and risk assessments
  • Analyze incident trends, loss data, and safety metrics; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions
  • Partner with leadership, HR, and risk management teams to oversee workers’ compensation and liability claims and develop targeted safety initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations (including OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA, and related agencies as applicable)
  • Lead accident prevention, loss control, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs and communicate safety policies to employees at all levels
  • Conduct safety audits and evaluate program effectiveness across operations
  • Serve as a safety subject-matter expert for operational teams, assisting with equipment, materials, and process-related safety concerns
  • Actively monitor regulatory changes and provide guidance on operational impacts
  • Build relationships with regulatory agencies and industry organizations; participate in inspections and regulatory discussions as needed
  • Promote accountability by modeling safe behaviors and reinforcing safety expectations


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, construction, industrial hygiene, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing health and safety programs in construction, industrial, or regulatory environments
  • Strong working knowledge of occupational safety regulations and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency with standard business software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to obtain required security credentials (e.g., TWIC, if applicable)
  • Willingness to travel between operational locations as needed


Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional safety certification (e.g., CSP, CHST, OHST)
  • Experience in construction materials, heavy industrial operations, or similar environments
  • Knowledge of insurance, claims management, and loss prevention strategies
  • Certified trainer designation or extensive hands-on training experience
  • Familiarity with construction equipment, materials, and operational processes

  • Calm and effective decision-making during incidents or crisis situations

Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
