Risk Analyst | Oil & Gas Commodities Trading
We’re looking for a Risk Analyst to join a dynamic trading team in the oil and gas sector. If you have experience in risk management for commodities and thrive in fast-paced environments, this is an excellent opportunity to work on the trading floor with exposure to multiple risk functions and potential for permanent conversion.
What You’ll Do:
- Generate and validate daily P&L and exposure reports across commodities (crude oil, gasoline, distillates, fuel oil, renewables, NGLs)
- Analyze and explain daily P&L movements, identifying key risk drivers and market impacts
- Validate trades, deals, market curves, and pricing inputs for accuracy
- Collaborate with trading, scheduling, accounting, and risk teams to resolve issues and ensure timely reporting
- Lead initiatives to standardize and automate reporting processes; enhance risk systems and dashboards
- Support compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Provide backup coverage across regions/products and mentor junior analysts
- Align mark-to-market P&L with GAAP standards for external financial reporting
What You Bring:
- Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, vLookup, hLookup)
- Experience with ETRM systems (RightAngle, Allegro, Endur, OpenLink, SAP)
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Familiarity with Power BI; Python or SQL is a plus
- Knowledge of commodity markets, trade lifecycle, and risk methodologies
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced trading floor environment

💵 Pay: $71 – $75/hour.
