We’re working with a leading construction organization in the Kansas City market seeking a Procurement Specialist with experience to support large-scale projects and supplier partnerships.

Position Overview
The Procurement Specialist will support procurement operations by partnering with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and project teams to develop sourcing strategies, establish supplier agreements, and drive procurement process improvements.
This role plays a key part in aligning procurement activities with project timelines, cost goals, and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Manage procurement-related projects including process development, best practices, and continuous improvements
Source and solicit quotes from suppliers for materials, equipment, and services
Review supplier contracts and support negotiations of commercial terms
Lead sourcing initiatives including RFPs, bids, and vendor selection processes
Analyze spend data and market trends to inform purchasing strategies
Evaluate supplier performance and support ongoing vendor management efforts
Build and maintain supplier relationships across key categories
Partner cross-functionally with operations, project teams, and stakeholders to gather requirements
Develop sourcing strategies aligned with project and business needs
Ensure procurement processes align with internal systems and workflows
Maintain supplier databases and track procurement activity
Act as OFCI buyer/expeditor to ensure timely delivery, coordination, and installation across projects
Qualifications
5 years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience within construction or project-based environments preferred
Experience with MEP procurement, construction materials, or project controls strongly preferred
Exposure to mission-critical or data center projects is a plus
Strong understanding of sourcing strategies, supplier negotiations, and contract workflows
Experience working with ERP systems and procurement tools
Ability to analyze data and identify trends to support decision-making
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
