LHH is partnered with an international AmLaw 100 law firm that is seeking a Pricing Manager to help shape profitable, durable, and equitable client relationships across a growing global platform. This role partners closely with lawyers, practice leadership, and business services teams to design competitive pricing approaches, support international client growth, and improve matter financial performance from pitch through close.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with attorneys and practice leaders to craft pricing approaches that align with client expectations while protecting margin and improving overall matter outcomes
  • Develop and evaluate alternative fee structures, staffing mixes, and budget strategies tailored to matter complexity, risk, and client priorities
  • Build financial models and scenario analyses to support pricing decisions, including sensitivity testing and resource allocation assumptions
  • Lead the economics workstream for client pursuits, including pricing input for proposals, pitches, and formal RFP/RFI responses
  • Support negotiation of pricing terms when needed and help translate agreed arrangements into practical budgets and execution plans
  • Create matter budgets and staffing plans in collaboration with case teams, using both historical benchmarks and matter-specific requirements
  • Monitor matter financial health throughout the lifecycle, assessing burn rates, scope changes, realization, write-offs/write-downs, vendor costs, and profitability trends
  • Establish and refine the use of matter codes and related data structures (e.g., tasks/activities) to improve benchmarking, measurement of investment, and pricing accuracy
  • Produce clear, decision-ready reporting for lawyers and leadership, including profitability views, performance drivers, and key indicators that inform proactive course corrections
  • Conduct retrospective reviews of concluded matters to capture lessons learned and improve pricing assumptions, staffing patterns, and future budgeting discipline
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and strengthen tools and processes supporting pricing and legal project management capabilities
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to junior pricing staff, including assignment planning, prioritization, quality review, and professional development support


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a law firm supporting pricing, matter budgeting, financial analysis, and legal project management
  • Demonstrated ability to build and explain sophisticated financial models, including scenario-based pricing and staffing analysis
  • Strong command of matter economics concepts, including realization, profitability drivers, write-downs/write-offs, and cost management
  • Ability to translate complex financial insights into practical recommendations for attorneys and non-finance stakeholders
  • Proven experience supporting proposals and client pursuits, including RFP/RFI pricing responses and related analytics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the maturity to influence across senior stakeholders
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational discipline, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Advanced Excel skills required; strong working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint; familiarity with reporting tools and databases a plus

Depending on the specific client, location, and role, the base salary range is estimated to be $153,000 to $163,000 and benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and 401K plan.
