Salary: $100,000 – $120,000 per year

Bonus: Annual discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance

Position Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Engineering team in Morristown, TN. In this role, you will design, develop, and improve mechanical systems and equipment while collaborating with cross-functional teams including Sales, Manufacturing, and Project Management. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative mechanical solutions in a collaborative, high-performing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales and Manufacturing to develop and refine product designs.
• Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Advise and support Mechanical Designers on component selection and design modifications.
• Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and perform calculations for tanks, pressure piping, and related components.
• Interface with vendors to identify cost-effective and high-quality components.
• Participate in inspections during various production stages.
• Support quality control processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist Project Management as a subject matter expert for mechanical design inquiries.
• Develop and update internal engineering procedures and training documentation.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably with capital equipment.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with ASME Pressure Vessel Codes, boilers, heat transfer, or auxiliary boiler room equipment is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience with PDM/PLM software preferred.
• Knowledge of Codeware Compress is a plus.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
• Occasional exposure to production floor conditions, including noise, heat, and cold.
