We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Manufacturing Manager to lead daily plant operations, drive production efficiency, and support continuous improvement within our Henderson, NC facility. This leader will manage a team of supervisors and production staff while ensuring safety, quality, and delivery standards are consistently met. The ideal candidate brings strong operational discipline, excellent people leadership skills, and a passion for building high-performing teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily manufacturing operations, including production planning, staffing, workflow management, and on-time delivery.
- Manage a team of production supervisors, technicians, and hourly employees; coach, develop, and evaluate performance.
- Ensure a safe work environment through training, audits, and adherence to OSHA and company safety standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, 5S, Kaizen, and other process optimization tools.
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to resolve production issues and improve product flow.
- Monitor KPIs such as throughput, scrap, downtime, labor efficiency, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Maintain strong communication across departments to ensure alignment on schedules, inventory needs, and priorities.
- Support equipment maintenance activities, troubleshoot operational problems, and ensure equipment reliability.
- Implement and enforce SOPs, best practices, and standardized work processes.
- Partner with HR on hiring, training, and workforce development within the plant.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities while maintaining quality and production standards.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing leadership, preferably in an industrial, automotive, metal, plastics, or high-volume production environment.
- Prior experience as a Production Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Supervisor, or similar leadership role.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams while fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
- Proficient in production planning, KPIs, and operational metrics.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Industrial Management, or related field preferred (but not required for strong experience).
Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
