Position: Litigation Secretary β Labor & Employment
Location: Santa Monica, CA
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days remote)
Compensation: $100,000 annually
Schedule: Full-Time
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Litigation Secretary to support our Labor & Employment practice in our Santa Monica office. This hybrid position requires three days on-site each week and provides essential administrative and litigation support in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide litigation and administrative support to attorneys practicing labor and employment law
- Prepare, format, revise, and proofread pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and legal documents
- Handle state and federal court filings, including e-filing and service of process
- Manage attorney calendars, track litigation deadlines, and maintain tickler systems
- Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial logistics
- Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files
- Assist with billing, time entry, and expense reports
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
- Ensure compliance with court rules and internal firm procedures
Qualifications:
- Minimum of [X] years of experience as a litigation secretary, preferably in labor and employment law
- Strong knowledge of California and federal court rules and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel); experience with document management systems preferred
- Excellent proofreading, formatting, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
