What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Assistant position at LHH?
LHH has an immediate opening in our Tampa office for a full-time Legal Assistant supporting the firm’s creditors’ rights and bankruptcy practice. This role offers the opportunity to be a key part of a busy team handling complex cases.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare, edit, and file pleadings, briefs, and other court documents (state, federal, and bankruptcy)
- Manage attorney calendars, court deadlines, and scheduling for meetings, depositions, and travel
- Draft and proof correspondence and reports
- Handle client files, billing entries, and expense reimbursements
- Provide general administrative support, including answering calls and coordinating logistics
What We’re Looking For:
- 2 years of legal assistant/secretary experience (law firm or corporate legal setting)
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology and filing procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word; 50 WPM typing
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle competing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
