LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a Real Estate Company that needs a Staff Property Accountant in Wilmington, Delaware. You will need a strong accounting background, ideally with experience in public accounting and a focus on real estate. This role is responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of properties, including commercial and residential assets. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has experience with journal entries, month-end close processes, financial statement packages, and possesses strong balance sheet and cash reconciliation skills. This is an onsite position, and the successful candidate will work with the MRI software platform within a well-established company that values employee recognition.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for a portfolio of commercial and residential properties.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions related to the assigned properties.
- Prepare and review journal entries to capture property-related transactions and adjustments.
- Maintain accurate and detailed supporting documentation.
- Lead and participate in the month-end close process for the assigned portfolio.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.
- Prepare comprehensive financial statement packages for assigned properties.
- Analyze variances and provide explanations for management review.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA designation or progress toward certification is a plus.
- Real estate background or strong accounting foundation with a focus on real estate.
- Experience with public accounting is highly desirable.
- Proficient in property management software, preferably MRI.
Compensation:
$65,000- 80,000
