Job Title: HR Generalist
Location: Benicia, CA (Fully Onsite)
Salary Range: $75,000–$87,000 annually
Job Summary:
The HR Generalist will manage site-level payroll and HR operations, serving as the primary HR contact. This role requires experience working with union employees and a strong understanding of payroll processes. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree and demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and compliance skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and review weekly payroll data, including garnishments, time off, and deductions
- Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS system
- Support recruitment efforts and attend job fairs
- Coordinate onboarding activities, including drug screenings and background checks
- Respond to HR, benefits, and wellness inquiries
- Ensure compliance across the employee lifecycle (hiring, training, leaves, terminations, retirements)
- Manage Workers’ Compensation claims and reporting
- Generate HRIS reports for leadership
- Conduct weekly rounds to maintain HR visibility and engagement
- Collaborate with corporate HR and payroll teams on process improvements
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience with union workforce preferred
- Strong payroll and HRIS knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRMS platforms
- Strong organizational and time management skills
