📍 Location: Vacaville, CA or Dixon, CA (Hybrid)
A well-established and growing organization is seeking a Controller to lead accounting and financial planning efforts across multiple operating entities. This is a highly visible, strategic role partnering closely with operations and executive leadership to drive financial performance, operational efficiency, and long-term planning.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead all regional accounting operations including AR, billing, payroll, and purchasing
- Oversee the monthly close process and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting
- Establish and maintain internal controls and accounting best practices
- Serve as the primary finance business partner to operational leaders, advising on profitability and strategic decisions
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and 5-year financial planning models
- Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to leadership
- Support pricing and rate-setting processes, including financial modeling and presenting in public forums when needed
- Build financial models for RFPs, bids, contract renewals, and labor negotiations
- Oversee audit processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Review financial components of contracts, agreements, and leases
- Prepare government filings, tax reports, and specialized financial reports
- Lead and mentor a high-performing accounting team
- Partner cross-functionally with IT and operations on system and process improvements
- Lead business planning including capital & operating budgets, forecasting, and recovery plans
- Drive financial modeling (pro forma) for new business and contract renewals
- Conduct contract & franchise rate reviews to support profitability
- Oversee financial reporting, audits, and compliance (including audit sign-off)
- Strengthen internal controls and financial processes
- Provide financial support for contract negotiations & labor agreements (CBAs)
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience (public or industry) with leadership responsibility
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and FP&A
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop teams
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills (pivot tables, modeling, etc.)
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
- Ability to influence stakeholders and partner with cross-functional leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- CPA and/or MBA preferred

Salary : $140,000 - $180,000
