Program Engineering Manager | Aerospace & Manufacturing Industry
We’re looking for a Program Engineering Manager to join a growing aerospace and manufacturing organization in Goldsboro, NC. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on driving engineering programs, cross-functional execution, and operational excellence. The position also offers strong long-term growth potential, including a future path toward VP of Engineering leadership.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead engineering programs from planning through execution and delivery
- Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, budgets, and resource plans
- Track project progress, costs, risks, and deliverables across multiple initiatives
- Support new product development, sustaining engineering, and engineering changes
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, operations, and service teams to ensure alignment
- Manage engineering budgets, including NRE (Non-Recurring Engineering) estimates
- Drive continuous improvement and change management initiatives
- Support configuration management, testing, and engineering systems processes
- Provide leadership updates, project reporting, and operational visibility
- Identify and remove roadblocks to improve execution and team efficiency
- Mentor and manage a small engineering team while supporting customer and internal projects
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or related field)
- 5 years of experience in engineering program or project management
- Background in aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, or mechanical industries preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience managing budgets, timelines, and multiple complex projects
- Familiarity with configuration management and engineering workflows
- PMP certification or formal project management training is a plus
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
