Legal Assistant – Bankruptcy & Creditor’s Rights | Tampa, FL
Salary: $62,000–$70,000 | Temp-to-Perm or Direct Hire
A respected Tampa-based law firm is partnering with LHH Recruitment Solutions to identify an experienced Legal Assistant to support a busy Bankruptcy and Creditor’s Rights practice. Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, edit, and format bankruptcy and litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, and supporting correspondence
- Handle e-filing in federal (CM/ECF) and state court systems with a high level of accuracy
- Maintain and manage case files, ensuring organization and compliance with firm procedures
- Track deadlines, court dates, and filings to ensure nothing slips through the cracks
- Coordinate hearings, calendars, and case logistics for attorneys and paralegals
- Communicate with clients, court personnel, trustees, and opposing counsel in a professional manner
- Assist with trial and hearing preparation, including exhibits and binders
- Support general administrative and case management functions in a busy practice
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, ideally in bankruptcy, creditor’s rights, or litigation
- Strong knowledge of court filings and procedures in high-volume environments
- Experience with CM/ECF and Florida e-portal e-filing systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities effectively
- Team-oriented with a proactive, dependable work style
